Ingredients: 1/2 cup shortening; 1-1/2 cups sugar; 2 eggs; 1 cup (1/2 pint) sour cream; 1 tsp vanilla; 2-3/4 cups ﬂour; 1/2 tsp baking soda; 1/2 tsp salt; 4 Tbsp butter; 1 cup powdered sugar; 1/2 tsp vanilla; 1–2 Tbsp hot water

Frosting

4 Tbsp butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1–2 Tbsp hot water

1/2 cup shortening

Frosting

4 Tbsp butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1–2 Tbsp hot water

Instructions

In a large bowl, cream the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, 5–7 minutes.
Beat in the eggs, sour cream, and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
Chill for at least 1 hour.
Drop by spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for approx. 12 minutes.

Frosting

Melt butter in a saucepan on the stove until golden brown.
Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and hot water and mix to desired consistency. (Not too runny but not too thick either.)
Frost cookies while warm.
