Rutabaga Soup
  1. In a large pot, cook bacon until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon from pot, crumble, and set aside.
  3. Sauté onions, celery, and garlic in bacon grease for 5 minutes.
  4. Add rutabagas, potato, chicken stock, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Blend, either using hand blender in the pot or blend in a blender in batches.
  7. Return to pot if blended in a blender.
  8. Stir in milk.
  9. Heat gently to serving temperature, do not boil.
  10. Garnish with bacon.
  11. Enjoy!
