Old-Fashioned Hot Fudge Sundae Cake
all purpose flour
cup plus 2 Tbsp
unsweetened baking cocoa
pure vanilla extract
pecans or walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In an ungreased 9×9-inch baking dish, add flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, and salt; mix well with fork.
Stir in milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
Add nuts, if desired. Spread batter evenly.
Sprinkle top of cake batter with brown sugar and remaining 1/4 cup cocoa.
Pour hot water over top (do not mix) and bake on middle rack until top layer has a dry brownie-like crust (approx. 40 minutes).
Remove and spoon warm cake sauce over ice cream. Enjoy!
