Indian Fry Bread
Traditional fry bread for tacos. This recipe is in response to a reader request from the August issue.

Ingredients
1/4
cup
granulated sugar
3
tsp
baking powder
2
cups
flour
1
tsp
salt
1
cup
water
or just enough to make a soft dough
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Combine all dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Add water and mix with a fork until soft dough is formed.
Divide dough into four sections and pat into a round flat circle on a floured surface.
Add 1-2 inches of oil to a large skillet and heat to 350 degrees. Fry dough until each circle is brown and crisp on both sides.
Top with taco toppings such as ground meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc.
