Topping
  1. Arrange the pear slices in bottom of a greased 9-inch pie pan.
  2. Sprinkle with flour, orange peel, and cinnamon; drizzle evenly with honey.
Cake
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; mix well.
  2. In a small bowl, combine honey, egg, butter, and orange juice; mix well. Add to flour mixture, stirring until just blended.
  3. Spread mixture evenly over pears. Top with course ground cornmeal.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until browned.
  5. Let cool 5 minutes on a wire rack; invert onto platter.
  6. Serve warm.
