Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a saucepan, heat water to a boil. Add figs and boil until they are soft, approx. 2–3 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and egg together; mix in figs and juice mixture.
Spoon onto baking sheet.
Bake for approx. 10–15 minutes, until almost firm.
