Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp Tbsp light corn syrup 1/4salt
- 2 oz squares unsweetened chocolate 1each
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup broken walnut meats

Instructions
- Combine sugar, milk, corn syrup, and salt in a saucepan.
- Cut chocolate in small pieces and add to sugar mixture. Stir over low heat, just until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring slowly to boiling; stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat to very low and cook without stirring, to 236 degrees on candy thermometer or until a little of the mixture dropped in very cold water forms a soft ball.
- During cooking, wipe crystals from sides of pan with a wet cheesecloth wrapped around a fork; do not stir mixture.
- Re- move from heat.
- Put butter and vanilla on top of mixture; let cool undisturbed until pan feels lukewarm.
- Beat until very thick.
- Stir in nuts. Continue stirring until fudge is very stiff.
- Turn at once, into buttered 8- x8- x2-inch pan.
- Cut into squares while still warm.
