Instructions
Cookie Dough
  1. Mix butter, cream, and flour from dough ingredients.
  2. Chill dough for 1 hour.
  3. On a floured surface, roll dough flat until approx. 1/8-inch thick.
  4. Cut cookie shapes using a 1-1/2-inch round cookie cutter.
  5. Transfer to waxed paper or a flat-bottomed bowl heavily covered with sugar.
  6. Turn to coat both sides of cookie with sugar.
  7. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet and prick with a fork 3–4 times.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 7–9 minutes.
Filling
  1. Mix filling ingredients until well blended, adding a drop of food coloring of choice, if desired.
  2. Spread filling on bottom side of one cookie and place second cookie on top, bottom side facing the filling.
