lemon, or almond extract
Cream butter; add sugar, then eggs, nuts (if using), and extract of choice.
Sift flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder together, and mix thoroughly into butter mixture.
Roll dough until it is flat (approx. 1/8- to 1/4-inches thick) onto a floured board or countertop.
Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Place onto greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
