Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups flour sifted
- 1-1/4 cups granulated sugar divided
- 6 Tbsp cocoa divided
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1-1/2 Tbsp butter
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 1-3/4 cups boiling water

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, sift together flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Beat in milk, butter, and vanilla. Stir in chopped walnuts. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Mix together brown sugar, remaining granulated sugar, and remaining cocoa. Sprinkle over the cake batter. Pour boiling water over the top. Bake for 40 minutes.
