  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all casserole ingredients into a large saucepan and heat. While fruit is heating, prepare the topping.
Topping
  1. In medium bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; cut in butter. Stir in oats, milk, and egg. Mix until ingredients are moistened. When the fruit is steaming hot in saucepan, transfer to a 2-quart casserole dish and then drop spoonfuls of topping over the cherry mixture. Bake approx. 25–30 minutes until the topping is golden brown. Serve slightly warm with vanilla ice cream. Serves 6–8.
