Ingredients
- 3-1/2 cups cabbage shredded
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pkg dry yeast
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 3/4 cup milk scalded, cooled
- 1/2 tsp shortening
- 2 cups flour

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a skillet, sauté cabbage in butter.
- Add ground beef and cook until crumbly, stirring constantly; drain. Season to taste; cool. In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water; let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add milk, shortening, and flour; mix well. Knead on floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Place in greased bowl, turning to grease surface. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes, or until doubled in bulk.
- Roll into 1/4-inch thick rectangle on floured surface. Cut into eight 5-inch squares.
- Place 2 heaping tablespoons beef mixture on each square. Bring corners up to enclose filling; press edges to seal. Place seam side down on greased baking sheet.
- Let rise for 20 minutes. Bake for 30 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
