Apple (Fruit) Kuechen
This recipe has been in my family for decades. It works well with apples, peaches and all kinds of berries. It is easy to make and can be served with whipped cream or ice cream.

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons flour, and 1 cup sugar; set aside.
  3. Beat remaining 1/2 cup sugar with remaining 1 tablespoon butter; then beat in egg.
  4. Sift remaining 2 cups flour together with baking powder and salt.
  5. Add alternately, milk, flour mixture, milk to sugar mixture.
  6. Place batter in 13x9-inch greased and floured pan.
  7. Arrange apples over the batter in one layer. Sprinkle sugar streusel over top of apples.
  8. Sprinkle cinnamon and/or nutmeg over dish, to taste.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes, test with toothpick in an area without fruit on top.
Recipe Notes

Additional notes: You can add 1 teaspoon vanilla or 1/2 teaspoon almond/orange flavoring to batter. You can use many different kinds of fruit with this recipe.
