*8:30-9:30 Spring Migration Arrivals
Join Visitor Services Manager, Katie Goodwin, at the observation tower to discover which migratory birds have returned. Meet at the observation tower parking lot.
*10:30 – 11:30 – Learn About “Whoopers” at the Refuge
We will look at how the tallest bird in North America spends more than half the year right here in Wisconsin!
11:30 – 12:45 Chili lunch available for those interested (donations accepted)
*1:00 – 1:45 What Was it Like?Meet Mark Nipper and Angie Maxted, two members of the ground crew during the early years of whooping crane recovery at Necedah National Wildlife Refuge. The couple will share photos and stories about their work with the cranes and what it was like to live on-site at the refuge.
Hands-on crane activities: the following family friendly activities are tables to visit at your own pace between 10:00 & 2:30. No registration is required.
