At 9 a.m., Wildlife Biologist Brad Strobel will give a presentation on the wonderful success of restoring the Little Yellow River from ditches made in the 1920s and 1930s, back to its natural meandering course. He will have photos of the work and success of flora and fauna that the restored river supports again.
At 10 am, travel by bus to see some of the restored river in person. Lunch will follow and is free to Friend Members. Not a member? Join that morning.
Reservations are limited to 60 for the presentation and lunch. The bus field trip is limited to 40.
If you prefer to stay at the refuge during the morning, you may observe wildlife from the tower or patio; explore the visitor center; or shop at the Karner Korner Nature Store. Lunch will be available starting at 12:15. (Subs from JB Deli, desserts, chips, and beverages. Bring your own snack if you need some refreshment before that.
