Many people want to give back to the community but don’t have a lot of time to volunteer. In about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel instant gratification.
Down the street and across the country, there are always patients in need of blood. In fact, every two seconds, someone needs blood in the U.S. Your blood donation can help up to 3 people.
You can help save lives by donating blood through the American Red Cross at the Iola Lioness Club Blood Drive on Monday, March 18, from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Community Fitness & Aquatic Center in Iola. Download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit www.red-cross-blood-dot-org or call 1-800-RED CROSS for more information and to make an appointment.
Blood is a perishable product that can only come from generous volunteers. By donating blood, individuals can make a difference in the lives of patients in their community and throughout the nation. To save time on March 18, complete the RapidPass online health history questionnaire found at redcrossblood.org/rapidpass. When you get to the Aquatic and Fitness Center, show us the results on your smart phone or else print the Rapid Pass out before you leave hom and bring it along.
A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
