The Friends of the Colby Public Library (CPL) will be bringing Senior VP of Marian University, Dr. George Koonce Jr. to Colby. The former Green Bay Packer linebacker #53, also known as the “Dr. of Defense”, and Super Bowl XXXI champ, will be giving a presentation in the Colby High School theater on Sat, Oct. 14, 2017. George will also be attending the CHS home football game on Friday night, Oct. 13th. He will be present while we talk to the crowd about the new Colby Community Library and he will toss a few footballs into the audience.

The Friends of CPL will also draw a few tickets from the crowd to receive George’s book, “Is There Life After Football? Surviving the NFL”. The books and footballs can be brought to the Colby Theater on Sat, Oct 14th to be personally autographed by George.

George will discuss how his life changed after his career in the NFL was over. He will speak about concussions, furthering his education, respect, and much more.

After the program, he will stay and sign autographs for attendees. You can bring items (1 per person please) for him to sign. There will also be copies of his book, footballs, and pictures for sale that he would also autograph.
