Holiday Open House and Live Owl Program at Necedah National Wildlife Refuge
On Friday, December 5th, there will be a holiday open house and sale at the Karner Korner Nature Store, inside the visitor center at the Necedah NWR. All items in the store will be 20% off. Friends Group members will gift-wrap purchases for free while shoppers enjoy a baked treat and sip hot chocolate or coffee beside the fireplace.
There, you can also enjoy the photography of Jeri Rockwell. Many of her photos are taken at the refuge. All have a nature theme and will be available for purchase.
Santa will be in the Visitor Center from 10-noon. He’s looking forward to having his photo taken with guests! There will also be a bake sale. All proceeds support environmental education, scholarships, wildlife, and special events at the refuge.
From 1-2 p.m. that same day, we will host a presentation by Marsh Haven Nature Center featuring two live owls. Space is limited to the first 60 people who sign up. Register by calling 608-565-2551 Tuesday – Thursday from 9-3. Or you can sign up online at refugereservations765@gmail.com
