Fire In The Shire

Visit Alma, Wisconsin on Saturday, June 3rd for Castlerock Museum’s annual Fire in the Shire event, a citywide celebration of all things medieval.

 

Events at the museum will run from 10 am-5 pm. The Wisconsin Historical Fencing Association will be doing fighting demos on the street in front of the Castle and Clann Tartan will be doing pike and non-firing musket demos. Kazimir the Hungry will be back with his sword swallowing and fire breathing and Bardmageddon will be playing medieval music in the museum’s theater. Visitors can also check out the museum’s unique collection of authentic arms and armor from the Romans through the Renaissance “Knight in Shining Armor.”

Visitors interested in searching for the fabled “Holy Grail” in the shops of the shire can enter a drawing to win Alma Dollars, museum memberships, and other prizes. Many businesses will have special promotions going on and the Midwest Renaissance Actors Guild and Lasa Anahata Tribal Belly Dancers will be performing on Main Street.
