The LaCrosse Area Genealogical Society and LaCrosse Park and Recreation is presenting a workshop on the use of DNA in genealogy. This workshop will begin with an explanation of the various DNA tests, their benefits and limitations. In addition, the descriptions of the main testing companies providing those tests and the costs will be explained.
Topics include: What is DNA? Genealogy vis a vis Genetic Genealogy, Types of DNA tests and which to pick, Testing companies, Looking at results, Matches, Ethnicity and Online tools.
