You don’t want to miss Cornucopia’s 19th Annual Art Crawl!
Saturday, September 9 – 10 to 5
Sunday, September 10 – 10 to 4
The Cornucopia Art Crawl is nearly twenty years old and each year it gets better! Come spend a day strolling the small but vibrant and ever more interesting village of Cornucopia – its streets and marina shops featuring the work of more than forty artisans from age 7 to 96! You’ll meet artists who are photographers, fiber artists, painters (watercolor, acrylic and oil), weavers, jewelers, quilters, wood carvers, leatherworkers, rug makers, clay artists, mosaic and glass makers. A large area will be dedicated to the work of students from the South Shores School District – artists who do it all! Youth involvement is supported by two Arts Initiative Grants from the Chequamegon Bay Arts Council (CBAC) designed to increase positive and meaningful connections between the Art Crawl and area youth through art education. This is the fourth year of an ever-increasing number of SSS students selling their work.
Many area businesses and local artists depend on tourism for their livelihood. The Cornucopia Art Crawl was created and situated on the second Saturday in September to draw people to the area past Labor Day, the unofficial end of summer. Artists and businesses collaborate to produce an event worthy of yet another trip to the area – an event that increases revenue for businesses and provides artists with a well-publicized venue to sell their work.
Come celebrate creative community with 40+ artists, a multitude of mediums, youth involvement, musicians, good food and drink, artist demonstrations, and art-related activities for children. Buy gifts for yourself and others, meet artists and residents, see what a small town on the shore of the big Lake looks like, sounds like, tastes like, feels like, and creates like. We look forward to seeing you September 9th and 10th!
