The Wittenberg Area Historical Society  invites you to to explore the history of the Bethany Indian Mission, founded by the Norwegian Lutheran Church in America.  The Mission operated from the late 1880’s to 1955 at the present site of the high school in Wittenberg.  The featured speaker is Prof. Betty Bergland of U.W River Falls.  She will explore the Mission’s complicated history, beginning with a log structure miles from town to a substantial set of buildings housing up to 150 students at it’s peak.  All that is left is a historical marker at the site.  A $10.00 free will donation is appreciated.  For more information contact 715-881-0326 or email at witthistsoc@gmail.com.
