Electric Vehicle Experience – September 25

Join us for our second Electric Vehicle Experience event on Saturday, September 25, 2021. The event will be held at Chippewa Valley Technical College Energy Education Center and will feature several makes and models of electric vehicles. Attendees will be able to see, ride, and drive electric vehicles. There will be informational booths from area EV partners and the keynote speaker is EV expert, Jukka Kukkonen.

Keynote Speaker:

Jukka Kukkonen is chief EV educator and strategist for Shift2Electric and has worked in the EV market for over 10 years. He has built programs for utility companies, auto dealers, condominium and apartment building charging, workplace charging, DC fast charging, outreach and education, and smart grid integration. He also teaches the “EV Market and Technologies” graduate course at the University of Saint Thomas and coordinates the Minnesota EV Owners group.

Expanding the Electric Vehicle Charging Network

Eau Claire Energy Cooperative has joined with 30 other Midwest cooperatives to create the CHARGE network of electric vehicle chargers. Founded in 2020, CHARGE EV, LLC is a national electric vehicle charging brand powered by electric cooperatives and investing in EV-focused companies. So far, the CHARGE network has over 30 level 2 and level 3 chargers throughout the Midwest. ECEC is adding to that total this fall by partnering with area member businesses to install level 2 chargers at their locations.

Co-op partners with area businesses

Coming soon, guests of three area hotels, a nature reserve, and a campground will be able to charge their electric vehicles. The Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, and Metropolis Hotel, along with Beaver Creek Reserve and Stoney Creek Campground, will be home to level 2 chargers. Watch for details in future issues as these chargers get installed!
