Survivors of the Peshtigo Fire are gathered in front of the Peshtigo Fire historical marker in 1951. The marker dedication coincided with the 80th anniversary of the fire. This was the first historical marker to be erected in Wisconsin; it stands in the cemetery adjacent to the Peshtigo Fire Museum. (Wisconsin Historical Society, WHS-123186)
