About

Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News magazine was established in 1940, and is published by the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association.

The Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News readers receive the magazine because they are member–owners of rural electric co-ops. Many readers live in rural areas, but thousands of urban dwellers who own seasonal homes and other property served by electric co-ops also get the magazine.

Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News has earned its reputation as a reliable, people-oriented publication whose focus is rural, non-rural, and statewide issues that affect electric cooperatives. Recognized for quality editorial content; clear, color photography; and captivating features, Wisconsin Energy Cooperative News provides a composite view of rural Wisconsin to a rate base of 171,000 with 340,000 monthly readers. It is many publications in one with local editions customized for each of the member cooperatives. Our priority is to promote the general welfare of cooperatives, their member-owners and the areas they serve. Learn more about our history.
