Apple (Fruit) Kuechen
This recipe has been in my family for decades. It works well with apples, peaches and all kinds of berries. It is easy to make and can be served with whipped cream or ice cream.

Instructions
  1. Mix 2 Tbls melted butter with 2 Tbls flour and 1 cup sugar. Set aside. Beat ½ cup sugar with 1 Tbls butter, then beat in 1 egg. Add alternately (milk/flour/milk) to sugar mixture: 1 cup milk and 2 cups flour that has been sifted together with 2 tsp baking powder and ¼ tsp salt. Mix well. Put batter in 13 x 9 inch, greased and floured pan. Peel, core and thinly slice 3-4 apples and arrange over the batter in one layer. Sprinkle butter/flour/sugar streusel over the top of the fruit. Sprinkle all with cinnamon and/or nutmeg to taste. Bake at 350 degrees about 25-30 minutes (test with toothpick in an area without fruit on top). You can add 1 tsp vanilla or ½ tsp almond or orange flavoring to the batter. You can use many different kinds of fruit, such as berries or peaches, with this recipe.
